The shipping container swivel castor is specially designed to easily move ISO containers under heavy loads. The twist lock mechanism is secured by pressing the twist handle, which locks the mechanism firmly to the corner castings of the connection. The entire mounting process is discussed in detail in our container wheel manual. In addition, a 100 mm fold-out support wheel is mounted on the fork section, allowing the swivel castor to be moved effortlessly under a corner casting. After attachment, the support wheel can be easily folded in.

The swivel castor is equipped with double wheels with a diameter of 250 mm and a width of 73 mm, which ensures excellent maneuverability and minimal rolling resistance, even under high loads. The wheels have a yellow polyurethane tire that is vulcanized onto a cast iron, black-lacquered rim. With a hardness of 95 shore A, the tire offers light cushioning and is suitable for uneven surfaces. Both wheels are blocked by the brake mechanism and are equipped with 6207 2RS ball bearings, allowing them to roll smoothly and without friction. The swivel castor has a dynamic load capacity of 4500 kg.

The wheel's swivel head has a four-position directional lock, allowing the swivel head to be locked at any 90-degree angle. This ensures stability and precise maneuverability. The fork is hot-dip galvanized to resist corrosion, while the sealed swivel head keeps dirt out. Thanks to a combination of an axial roller bearing and a tapered roller bearing, the swivel head can rotate smoothly, even under very heavy loads. The fork section and mounting plate are securely bolted and spot welded, ensuring there is no play in the fork head. The steel fork is 10 mm thick and the twist-lock mechanism and forks are spot welded to the swivel ring.
